The Pinnacles & Billy Goat Bluff

VIC High Country Elevation, achieved Longer stop than we planned

The Pinnacles is a fire lookout perched above the Victorian High Country, with views stretching from the Wonnangatta Valley to the Gippsland Lakes and Mt Hotham. It's a fair drive in, but the view at the end makes a pretty good case for it.

Then there's Billy Goat Bluff. One of Victoria's harder 4WD tracks, with steep climbs, loose rock, tight switchbacks and some fairly committed drop-offs. There are easier ways to get to The Pinnacles. So, naturally, we took the hard road.

Last Stop

Dargo

After a few days of tracks, snow and no phone signal, Dargo is a soft launch back into civilisation. A decent pub, a servo, a general store serving a mean burger with the lot, and not much else. Which is about all you need.
